CSSB is a joint initiative of three universities and six research institutes
The Senate of the Leibniz Association has decided to fund two outstanding female scientists from Hamburg as part of the Leibniz Women Professors Program: Dr. Maria Rosenthal from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) and Prof. Dr. Stephanie Pfänder from the Leibniz Institute of Virology (LIV). Prof. Rosenthal and her group will be based at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology. Read more
The 2025 iGEM Hamburg team is working on their synthetic biology project DeathCapTrap at CSSB. The Hamburg team will present their project at the end of October during the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris. Read more
The aim for the Summer School "Challenges of Synthetic Biology: From Theory to Practice" (iSSSynBio) is to provide interested students with a comprehensive and in-depth insight, both in theory and practice, into a current research topic in the vibrant field of Synthetic Biology. Read more
